I'd love to visit (virtually anyway)! During the ongoing COVID 19 Pandemic (currently and into the 2020/2021 school year) I am offering visits through Skype or Zoom. But, because all my visits are virtual, that means I can visit way, way, way beyond the borders of my home province of New Brunswick and all across North America.
Here's what I am offering:
The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt -- This picture book is brand new -- just published Sept. 1, 2020! It is beautifully illustrated by Byron Eggenschwiler. It's the perfect book for leading up to Halloween, but it also has a year-round theme of learning to embrace and be proud of what makes each of us unique.
I offer a lively engaging reading of the story in a fun festive atmosphere with props, quilts, decorations, and Halloween fun. I'll talk a wee bit about how I got the idea for the book and of course answer questions. (If it's near Halloween, I'd also happily be a virtual special guest at a Halloween party -- just let me know and I'll wear a (non-scary) costume.)
Waiting Under Water -- For this middle grade book, I'll talk about the inspiration behind it, and about some of the main themes in the story. (Or if a class has read the book, I'm happy to talk/focus on any aspect of it that you'd like) I'd also like to show a little of my personal sea glass collection and of course answer questions.
The Town That Drowned or All The Things We Leave Behind -- I'm happy to discuss either of these books and answer questions.
Modern Selvage Quilting or Sew a Modern Halloween -- I can give a small trunk show of some of the quilts/projects from the books, talk about my inspirations, and design/sewing methods.
