February 10, 2020: 2020 will be an exciting year!  Waiting Under Water (Scholastic Canada) will be out on May 5 and The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt (Tundra), illustrated by the fabulously talented Byron Eggenschwiler, will be out on September 1!  Both books are currently available for Pre-order.

November 13, 2019: The release date for my next novel (my middle grade debut!) is May 5, 2020 with Scholastic.  Title may be Waiting Under Water (not final yet).  It is already up for pre-order on Amazon and Indigo.  I am excited to share this story with everyone!

December 13, 2018: Hello, I am alive and well and still writing.  I am thrilled to say that I have two books forthcoming!  I have a Halloween picture book coming out in Fall 2020 with Tundra (Penguin Random House) and a middle grade novel set in New Brunswick coming out either 2020 or 2021 with Scholastic.  I'm working on new projects too, so fingers crossed there will be more to come soon.  Happy Holidays and all the best for 2019!

March 23, 2017:  I'm pleased to say that All The Things We Leave Behind has been shortlisted for the Mrs. Dunster's New Brunswick Book Award for Fiction.  Winner will be announced May 24!

March 14, 2017:  My next quilting book Sew a Modern Halloween will be published in June, 2017.  Halloween has always been my favourite holiday so I had a ton of fun designing and making all the projects for the book.  It will be published by C&T Publishing, who also published Modern Selvage Quilting.

January 9, 2017: Happy New Year! I am quietly working away on the first draft of a new book.  I will also be out at a few literary events this winter and spring.  One I can mention is that on February 23 I will be reading at the Lorenzo Reading Series at UNBSJ.  Thank you so much to everyone who has bought and read All The Things We Leave Behind.

September 10, 2016: It is looking like a very busy fall.  My first launch for All The Things We Leave Behind is in Quispamsis at the Kennebecasis Valley Public Library at 7:00 pm on Sept. 15.  It is free and everyone is welcome! I have many, many other events coming up too, all of which are listed with details at www.gooselane.com under the Events tab.

March 1, 2016: I have received an advance copy of Modern Selvage Quilting published by C&T Publishing and it is so colorful and fun!  Just about a month or so until it is in stores.

February 19, 2016: The publication date for All The Things We Leave Behind is looking like late summer rather than fall.  I am getting excited to share more about the book.

December 20, 2015: My second novel has an official title.  It is called All The Things We Leave Behind.  It will be published in Fall, 2016 by Goose Lane Editions.

September 11, 2015: As well as being a writer I'm a quilter, and I'm thrilled to announce that my next book is called "Modern Selvage Quilting" and will be published by C&T Publishing.  It is a beautiful full-colour book with illustrations and photos.  The book features 17 quilts and sewing projects designed by me.  It is currently available for pre-order and will release April 6, 2016 (or a little sooner).  I am also still working on my second novel.

September 27, 2014: I was so pleased to win the Literary Arts award at the Saint John Originals Awards last night.  Thank you so much to the Originals and the Saint John Community Arts Board.

August 4, 2014: Hi!  I am alive and well.  And, have I ever mentioned that I'm a textile artist (quilter)?  Well, it's true.  And I'm thrilled that I'll have my first solo exhibit opening on September 12 at the Saint John Arts Centre in the Canada Games Gallery.  In Saint John, New Brunswick.  The exhibit is called "A Quarter Inch Scream" and features 10 of my original works combining Halloween, horror, humour and selvage quilting -- a natural combination, right? It runs until October 31. 

January 30, 2014: I am thrilled to finally be able to share that my second novel, The Purple Barn, has been bought by Goose Lane Editions.  Publication date to be determined, but not this year.  Lots of hard work ahead but I can't wait to get started!

November 26, 2013:  I think I'm all finished my literary events for the year -- and what a fabulous year it was!  Thank you to everyone who invited me to take part in a reading or festival and of course thank you to everyone who read the book this year!

August 25, 2013:  The Town That Drowned has been on the bestseller list of the wonderful independent bookstore Westminster Books (Fredericton, NB) for 100 weeks!  Thank you!

June 2, 2013:  I had a wonderful time in Moncton on May 25 meeting with the Frye Academy and picking up my Northrup Frye bobblehead which is my official prize.  Norrie made it to my house safely and is displayed proudly on a cabinet here.

April 28, 2013:  I am so thrilled that The Town That Drowned has won the 2013 Frye Academy Award!  I am looking forward to going to an event to meet with the Frye Academy jurors and public on May 25, 2013 in Moncton, NB.  I am also excited to see the little Northrup Frye sculpture that is the award!

March 5, 2013:  Pretty exciting that Woodstock, NB has chosen The Town That Drowned for a town-wide read!  I will be in Woodstock on March 28 to read from and discuss the book.

January 7, 2013:  So happy to hear that The Town That Drowned was Goose Lane Editions Number 1 Bestseller for 2012!  I am so honoured as they have such an excellent list of books including Non-Fiction as well as Fiction and Poetry.

December 16, 2012: Thank you all for a wonderful year!  The Town That Drowned is currently in its fourth printing.  I amazingly still have lots of fun book-related events coming for 2013.  (Some are on the events page.  Some are secret for now)  I have seen the cover for the Australian edition of the book and I absolutely LOVE it.  I am working on my new novel.   All the best for the new year!

September 13, 2012:  I am thrilled to announce (and SO thankful to all involved) that the Australian rights for The Town That Drowned have been sold to Allen and Unwin.  I can hardly wait to see the Australian edition of the book in 2013 !!!


July 17, 2012:  Very soon, if not already, The Town That Drowned will be for sale in some Shoppers Drug Marts and Loblaws/Superstores across Canada.  I can't wait to see the books there.  The kids were already thrilled to see a giant stack at the Saint John Costco over the weekend.  Thank you so much to the store buyers/decision makers for stocking the book.  Woohoo!
